PASSENGER PROTECTION POLICIES AND TERMS OF SERVICE
At Manu Explorers Group (RUC: 20615080668), our priority is the safety, satisfaction, and well-being of our passengers. This document establishes the guidelines for protection, rights, and duties to guarantee a memorable and safe experience in the Peruvian Amazon.
1. SAFETY COMMITMENT AND RISK MANAGEMENT
Given the nature of adventure tourism and ecotourism in the Manu Biosphere Reserve:
- Risk Information: The passenger acknowledges that traveling to the jungle involves inherent risks (changing weather, presence of wildlife, uneven terrain). Manu Explorers is committed to minimizing these risks through certified guides, first aid kits, and emergency protocols.
- Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that all passengers have comprehensive travel insurance covering accidents, medical repatriation, and cancellations.
- Health: The passenger declares to be in fit physical condition to undertake the trip. It is mandatory to inform us in advance about allergies, dietary restrictions, or pre-existing medical conditions.
2. BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICY
To guarantee the necessary logistics and permits (National Park entrance fees, river/land transport):
- Security Deposit: A deposit of [Ex. 25% or 50%] of the total cost is required to confirm the booking. This amount secures spaces and non-refundable logistics.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid [Ex. 30 days before the trip or upon arrival in Cusco before the tour starts], preferably in cash or via verified transfer.
3. CANCELLATIONS AND TRAVEL INSURANCE (More info in Booking Policies)
Weather conditions in the Andes and the Jungle can be unpredictable. Although April to October are generally the driest months, it can rain year-round, which could lead to road inaccessibility due to landslides.
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
- Unpredictable weather conditions leading to itinerary modifications or cancellations.
- Tour cancellations (by either party).
- Flight cancellations.
- Accidents, loss of personal luggage, and hospitalization.
- Additional costs due to security concerns, illness, changes in government policy, or political instability/strikes.
Please note: Manu Explorers Group accepts no responsibility for cancellations, losses, tropical medical issues, damage, or injury to property or persons. Compensation requests due to weather-related issues or other unforeseen circumstances cannot be considered by Manu Explorers.
Cancellations Initiated by the Client:
For cancellations made after a tour has been booked and confirmed, no refund will be granted.
In the event a client decides to separate from the tour group during the trip, it will be the client's responsibility to pay all expenses associated with their early return to Cusco.
In case of tour cancellation for insurance purposes, please request a Tour Cancellation Certificate at our office. This certificate will be provided within 24 hours of the request date.
4. PASSENGER RIGHTS (CONSUMER PROTECTION)
In accordance with Peruvian regulations and best practices:
- Transfer and Postponement: If the contracted service includes regulated commercial transport, the passenger has the right to transfer (endorse) or postpone their ticket with prior notice (according to legal deadlines and Indecopi regulations), subject to administrative issuance fees.
- Service Quality: Manu Explorers guarantees that services (accommodation, meals, guiding) will comply with what is stipulated in the itinerary, except for modifications necessary for safety or weather.
5. PROTECTION OF MINORS AND ETHICAL CONDUCT
- ESNNA: Manu Explorers explicitly rejects and reports any type of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA), in accordance with Law No. 29408.
- Documentation for Minors: Every minor must travel accompanied by their parents or legal guardian, carrying a valid ID or passport.
- Environmental Respect: The passenger agrees to respect the flora and fauna, not to extract natural resources, and to follow the guide's instructions for the conservation of Manu.
6. LUGGAGE AND BELONGINGS
- Manu Explorers is not responsible for the loss of valuables (jewelry, expensive electronic equipment) that have not been declared or kept safe under the guide's instructions. We recommend bringing only what is necessary for the expedition.
7. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
- Collected personal information (names, passports, emails) will be used exclusively for booking purposes and operational security, guaranteeing its confidentiality according to the Personal Data Protection Law.
