8day Manu Park Bird Photography Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

Activities of the day: Today we will head towards the Incas Sacred Velley and spend the day photographing birds in a Bird Garden.
Target species of the day: Sword-billed Hummingbird, Tyrian Metaltail, Black-tailed Trainbearer, Great sapphirewing, Shining sunbeam, White-tufted sunbeam, White-bellied woodstar, Bearded mountaineer and Green-and-white hummingbird

Day 2: Cusco – Wayquecha Lodge

Activities of the day: This day we will head towards the border of Manu National Park, along the way we will be able to observe some birds like caracaras, falcons and hawks.
Target species of the day: Mountain caracara, Red-backed Hawk, Black-chested buzzard-eagle, Yungas pygmy owl, Golden-collared tanager, Grey-breasted mountain toucan. Among other species of birds

Day 3: Wayquecha Lodge all day

Activities of the day: today we will explore the road as well as the trails near the lodge.
Target species of the day: Grey-breasted mountain toucan, Scarlet-bellied mountain tanager, Golden-collared tanager, Hooded mountain tanager, Sword-billed hummingbird

Day 4: Wayquecha Lodge – San Pedro Lodge

Activities of the day: This day we will continue our journey down road towards our next photography spot. We will photograph birds along the road.
Target species of the day: Andean cock-of-the-rock, Golden-headed quetzal, Andean motmot, Grey-breasted mountain toucan, Gray Woolly monkey, Versicolored barbet and Andean Potoo

Day 5: San Pedro Lodge all Day

Activities of the day: this day we will visit a LEK of the Peruvian National Bird and later we will visit a Tanager garden.
Target species of the day: Andean cock-of-the-rock, Golden-headed quetzal, Crested Quetzal, Andean motmot, versicolored barbet, Green jay and Andean Potoo among other species of tanagers and himmingbirds.

Day 6: San Pedro Lodge all day

Activities of the day: This day we will go down road looking for the Amazonian Umbrella bird, we will photograph birds at the lodge, along the road and at the tanager garden.
Target species of the day: Amazonian umbrellabird, Peruvian piedtail, Black-and-chestnut eagle, Blue-banded toucanet.

Day 7: San Pedro Lodge all day

Activities of the day: Today we will target the species we couldnt photograph in the previous days.

Day 8: San Pedro Lodge – Cusco

This day we will start with our journey back to Cusco, we will arrive to Cusco between 3pm to 6pm.
